Our Speakers
Workshops
How can we make the Welsh pound work harder, help grow the sector and create more economic value and local jobs? Dr Sarah Evans from Cwmpas brings together public sector procurement specialists and social enterprises who have accessed public sector contracts. The aim will be to listen and learn from both sides to increase the number of social enterprises within our public sector supply chains. If you’re a budget holder wanting to get more social value from your spend or a social enterprise looking for public sector contracts, this is not to be missed.
We believe our economy and society should work differently. In this workshop, we bring together co-operatives and social enterprises from across Wales who have successfully developed assets that created economic growth and new jobs. We will discuss the potential for raising investment in the form of community shares and how can we learn from good practice across Wales. If you are thinking of developing a community asset and want to grow your local economy, this is the workshop for you.
It’s been a tough time for all businesses – with Covid, the cost of living crisis and then the energy crisis, many businesses have eaten into their reserves and relied much more on their volunteers to survive. Alun Jones from Social Investment Cymru (Wales Council for Voluntary Action) talks to social enterprise leaders and investors about how businesses can succeed and thrive in volatile markets.
In this workshop UnLtd will host a conversation with social entrepreneurs from across Wales who are working hard to address discrimination and promote a more inclusive and compassionate nation. We will hear from those with experience of what it’s like to feel marginalised in Wales, and how it affects them directly. We want to work together to build stronger communities in Wales, and we have learnt that the most worthwhile solutions come from individuals who bring people and communities together. We will look at the steps we are taking to support social entrepreneurs with passion and commitment to create positive social change and we will welcome your contributions.
