Access to digital devices | Digital Confidence Denbighshire
Digital devices for people at risk of digital exclusion
We are offering digital devices to people who are at risk of digital exclusion. Recipients must be referred to Digital Confidence Denbighshire by a public or third sector referral organisation.
Digital Confidence Denbighshire is a pioneering initiative funded by Shared Prosperity and delivered by Cwmpas, dedicated to bridging the digital divide in Denbighshire. Our mission is to empower individuals with the digital tools and skills they need to access essential services, communicate with loved ones, and thrive in an increasingly digital world.
We offer a range of tailored interventions designed to meet the diverse needs of our community:
Personalised Digital Support: Our dedicated team provides assistance within the community, covering everything from basic digital skills to navigating online public services and digital health literacy.
Digital Inclusion Training Opportunities: We host training sessions at community venues, featuring drop-in support and courses to enhance digital skills, ensuring that no one is left behind.
Referral Services: We connect individuals with relevant employability and further education services, empowering them to reach their full potential.
Distribution of Digital Devices: For those at risk of digital exclusion, we provide access to essential digital devices, including laptops, tablets, mobile phones, and more.
Our approach is targeted towards individuals facing barriers to digital inclusion, including:
- Older people
- People with disabilities or long-term health conditions
- Those who are financially excluded
- Individuals with lower educational attainment
- Residents in rural areas
- Welsh speakers and those who do not use English as a first language
- Socially isolated and lonely individuals
- Homeless individuals
To qualify for our digital assistance, individuals must be referred by a recognised public or third-sector partner and meet the following criteria:
- Unable to access essential public services due to connectivity issues, lack of suitable devices, or insufficient digital skills.
- Referred by a suitable partner with a narrative describing the need for and suitability of the device.
- Belong to one of the targeted groups mentioned above, although we will endeavour to support anyone at risk of digital exclusion.
If you or someone you know could benefit from our services, please reach out to a recognized referral partner in your community. Recipients will be expected to complete an ‘Introduction to Learn My Way’ workshop or similar before they can take receipt of any devices. Referral partners will be expected to supply a short case study detailing how the recipient has benefited from receiving the support.
Applications must be submitted by October 31st to ensure devices are purchased and handed over by the end of November 2024.
