Young Entrepreneurs Social Business Start-Up Programme

A new social business skills package designed for young people will be running in Autumn 2025.
Co-designed with young people, the programme will help develop their own social business ideas and bring them to reality. We’ll also pick up some valuable skills and boost confidence.
The programme is open to people aged 16-25 in the Cardiff Capital Region and aims to help develop the skills and confidence to achieve their potential, while trying out a business idea that’s good for people or planet.
We will:
- Look at how local social businesses tackle social and environmental challenges
- Be inspired by mentors running social enterprises in your community
- Research issues important to you and develop ideas on how to solve them
- Turn your idea into a business plan with expert business coaching
- Take part in events such as business visits, ideas festival and a pitching event

Together, we want to help young people, especially those who face barriers, build the skills and confidence to do the same.
Social enterprises are usually run to help tackle a social or environmental issue through trading. There are hundreds across Wales and around the world.
