Perthyn meet our team

Samantha Edwards- Perthyn Project Manager
Hey! I’m Sam, I have worked for Cwmpas for 3 years and on the Perthyn project for the last 2 years and I manage the day-to day-operations of the Perthyn project, I am typically behind the scenes, but I embrace every opportunity to chat and meet with our communities.
My experience and background comes from a variety of sectors from local authority, education and the health and social sector. I’m passionate about community development and the Welsh language, the best part of my role must be seeing the progress community members make and the impact they create through developing their ideas with the Perthyn project and Perthyn small grant scheme.
Away from work I like to read, cook, and spend time with my family and our dog, Tirion.

Kelly Thomas – Perthyn North Wales Co-ordinator
I’m the North Wales Project Coordinator and my role is to support community groups and enterprises to develop their ideas into community enterprises. I work with groups during the early stages, assessing their support requirements, sharing best practice and bringing in our team of experts within the different fields to support at appropriate stages.
I have over 20 years of experience of working with third sector organisations, at both an operational and strategic level across Wales, working in particular in business development.
On a personal level I love to be adventurous and live for travelling and spending time with family and friends. I also love walking, climbing and cycling!

Osian Elis – Perthyn North Wales Co-ordinator
S’mai! I am the North Wales project Coordinator, based on Pen Llŷn. I am deeply committed to supporting people and communities, and throughout my career, they have always been at the heart of everything I do.
With 25 years of experience in the housing and homelessness sector in Wales, I have worked extensively at both operational and strategic levels. I am passionate about the Welsh language and culture and strongly believe in the importance of preserving and protecting both for future generations.
Additionally, I have a long-standing interest in social enterprises, and for the past 18 years, I have served as a director of Tafarn y Fic, the oldest community cooperative pub in the UK.

Jocelle Lovell – Director of Inclusive Communities
Shwmae. I oversee a portfolio of work including community led housing, digital inclusion, health & social care and the small but mighty Perthyn.
My interest in community development started at the age of 21 when I took on a closed down village pub in Pembrokeshire. The pub became the heart of the community where everyone was welcome. I have worked in the Welsh third sector for 20 years supporting people and communities to tackle key issues that matter to them.
When I’m not working you’ll find me out and about exploring with my black Labrador ‘Otter’, he swim’s like an Otter! Riding my horse or campaigning to improve bridleways and riding routes in my local area.

Chloe Howell – Perthyn Administrator
Hey! A large part of my role is working behind the scenes ensuring the grant process runs smoothly, I work closely with the groups that have been awarded the grant as well as keeping everything organised for the Perthyn project. I believe the Perthyn grant is invaluable to the local Welsh communities. Being able to see the difference this project and grant has on Welsh communities is inspirational and I’m proud to play my small part in creating change for the greater good.
In my spare time I love to stay active and be outdoors with my dogs, get dressed up and go for nice meals with family and friends. I also enjoy cooking and baking.

Cris Tomos – South West Wales Co-ordinator
Hi, I work for PLANED in partnership with Cwmpas, delivering support for early-stage ideas across the South West. With over 30 years of experience, we help local communities achieve their goals.
