Social Leaders Cymru is launching a fully funded leadership development opportunity for 30 social leaders who live or work within the Gwynt y Môr and Rhyl Flats Windfarm Community Funds’ areas of benefit.
Social Leaders Cymru is a partnership between Cwmpas, Clore Social Leadership, and the Wales Council for Voluntary Action (WCVA), and the free Community Leader Rhyl programme will take place between February and June 2026, offering in-person and online sessions.
This programme will help leaders enhance wellbeing and resilience, expand their skills, build community cohesion, and inspire the next generation within the Welsh social sector.
Made possible with funding from Gwynt y Môr and Rhyl Flats Wind Farm Community Funds and the National Lottery Community Fund, the Community Leader Rhyl programme aims to remove financial barriers, offering individuals at all stages of their leadership journey access to high-quality leadership training and opportunities. This programme will help participants to build strong and diverse networks to take their work to the next level.
The programme in Rhyl builds on the success of the Community Leader programmes held in Newport, Wrexham, and Swansea over the past year, where participants have praised the leadership development and peer networking opportunities within a supportive and empowering environment. The time and space for reflection and focus on wellbeing were highly valued.
Siobhan Hayward, Project Manager, Social Leaders Cymru at Cwmpas, said:
“We are excited to launch this new Community Leader Rhyl programme for social leaders living/working within the Gwynt y Môr and Rhyl Flats Wind Farm Community Funds’ areas of benefit. Social Leaders Cymru’s vision is to support social leaders in Wales through providing a range of learning and networking opportunities to help build on their existing skills and strengthen their networks, which in turn will have a positive impact within their own organisations and communities. We believe that by investing in leadership development, we are not only shaping the present but also working towards a sustainable future for our communities”
The application window is now open for the Community Leader Programme in Rhyl.
