Applications for sustainability funding open to heritage organisations
Heritage organisations in Wales are encouraged to apply for the latest round of the National Lottery Heritage Fund grants which are supported by a comprehensive learning package to create sustainable income generation.
With heritage organisations across the UK under increasing pressure and financial constraints, including the continuing impact of Covid-19 and the cost-of-living crisis, social enterprise is needed more than ever to build sustainable and resilient income streams which put people and planet first.
About Steps to Sustainability
Cwmpas is delighted to be delivering Round 3 of Steps to Sustainability, a National Lottery Heritage Fund programme, in partnership with the Social Enterprise Academy, to provide a pathway of support to address current challenges.
On their 14-month journey, heritage organisations will learn to be more ambitious, forward-thinking and be self-reliant, collaborating with peers in organisations with similar missions and sector experts from across the UK.
The programme has created real positive change through previous programmes, involving 110 learners across the UK – including 13 successful applicant organisations from Wales and many reporting an increase in confidence when implementing an income generating idea.
Gwenllian Thomas, Commercial Sales and Marketing Officer at Cwmpas, said:
“We encourage any organisations which have an income-generating idea in mind to express their interest.
“This is the third time we’ve delivered this exciting programme in Wales, which not only gives a financial boost to heritage organisations but also provides a learning package to ensure they have the knowledge to make sure the social enterprise they create provides them with a sustainable future.”
Funding
All successful organisations can apply for a funding grant of up to £10,000 to incentivise increased trading income during and immediately after the programme.
Start Date
Round three will kick off in October for people who would like to increase the sustainability of their heritage organisation and lead in a way that helps to generate and diversify their organisation’s income.
