This October will see the return of the Social Business Wales Awards as a live, in-person event at the brand-new Swansea Arena.

Social Business Wales Awards 2022

The Social Business Wales Awards are part of the Social Business Wales (SBW) project which is funded by Welsh Government and the European Regional Development Fund. Social Business Wales is delivered by Cwmpas (new name for Wales Co-operative Centre) and is part of the Business Wales service.

This will be the 7th year of the SBW Awards, and we want to highlight, more than ever, the tremendous growth and potential of the sector and its vital contribution to communities across Wales.

This year there are 10 award categories for social enterprises to choose from and enter, including four new categories which reflect the ways that social enterprises and social entrepreneurs have really made a difference to our lives in the last 12 months.

All winners will go on to represent Wales at the Social Enterprise UK Awards in December.

Categories

Social Enterprise of the Year
Open to social enterprises which have been trading for more than two years, in any business sector.
One to Watch
Open to social enterprises which have been trading for less than two years, in any business sector.
Social Enterprise Team of the Year
This category acknowledges those teams which, over the course of an extremely challenging couple of years, have demonstrated the strength, passion and resilience which is so characteristic of the social enterprise sector.

Other categories social enterprises can enter:

Women in Social Enterprise (New category)
This award recognises a woman working in the senior leadership team of a social enterprise who represents excellence in her field of work and inspires and empowers other women to achieve.
Prove it: Social Impact (New category)
This award is designed for any social enterprise that can truly demonstrate and communicate their impact with their stakeholders. This award is not comparing the scale of different enterprises’ impact, but their measurement and reporting process.
Transforming Community & Place
Open to social enterprises that have been operating for more than 2 years and are locally rooted, trading for the benefit of the local community and making community impact.
Environmental Social Enterprise (New category)
Open to social enterprises that have been operating for more than 2 years in the green and environmental sectors.
Tech for Good
Open to social enterprises that have been operating for more than a year and use technology to achieve social impact.
Building Diversity, Inclusion, Equality & Justice (New category)
Open to all social enterprises that are addressing these issues.

Open to any third sector organisation, public sector body or private business:

Buy Social – Market Builder
Open to any third sector organisation, public sector body or private sector organisation that has demonstrably made efforts within its own organisation and remit to create more opportunities to buy from social enterprises.
